If you are using Libsyn for your media host, they have an app that will allow visitors to your Facebook page view and play your podcast episodes. If you’re not using Libsyn, seriously consider it! And to give you an incentive, use the promo code “brain” when checking out and you’ll get the rest of this month, and the entire next month free!
Anyway, here’s what your Facebook page will look like after you do this:
Pretty cool huh? Libsyn has some outdated instructions on their website here, but below I’ve outlined the quick and easy steps:
1. Log into Facebook as yourself, not as your page
2. Click this Libsyn link to be taken to their app’s Facebook page
3. Click on the three dots to the right, and select Add App to Page
4. Select the Facebook page you want to add from the next screen. If you don’t see your page listed, you are probably not logged in as yourself or you are not the owner of that page
5. Go back to your Facebook page and you will see in your tabs a Libsyn Podcast App. If you don’t see it in your tabs, select the More tab and search for it there. You can also select Manage Tabs under the More tab to move it like I did in the screenshot at the beginning of this article
6. To change the name of that tab, on your Facebook page, click on Settings… Apps, then under Libsyn, click on Edit Settings
7. Now open the newly named podcast tab, and select Edit Page Tab Settings. This is where you’ll search for your podcast
That’s it! Now fans can come to your Facebook page and listen to all of your episodes. It may not help you rank any higher in iTunes directly, but people who don’t use iTunes will now be able to listen to your show.
Sincrerely appreciate the heads-up on this and the walkthrough.
You’re welcome! Happy to help the community. 🙂
Works like a charm! Thanks!
Beautiful. Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback.
What can I do if I don’t find my podcast in the “edit page tab settings” tab?
Hmm, not sure. This process does work, so I’m thinking something isn’t matching up. Maybe your Facebook profile is different than your Libsyn profile or something?
Hate to redirect you, but I don’t know the answer. Contact them here: support@libsynsupport.com
If you find out, update this thread! Good luck. 🙂
What show, Sean? I can test it for you on my page and see if I can find it.
Sorry James, just saw this. My podcast is called The Evening Score and it’s under our network CLNS Radio. We have a sister network called Beats and Eats which comes up but the other network nor my show come up
Thanks Paul for the real clear step by step directions– worked great!
Very cool! Thanks for the feedback.
Awesome info, Paul!! Just set this up on my FB page. Thanks!
Hey Josh! Thank you for the comment! I didn’t realize how many people would enjoy this. 🙂
It was so easy to follow your instructions. I set it up in less than 2 minutes……super cool!
Great post – just uploaded my podcast and it worked great! Couldn’t figure out how to get the Podcast episodes tab to show up on my page – then found the ‘manage tabs’ button if you click on ‘More’ on your page. Thanks for instructions Paul!
Love it! Thanks for sharing the screenie – perfect.
Thank you so much! Just set it up…love this! Your tutorial was so clear and helpful!!
Alright! Great to hear. You’re welcome!
Hi, Paul. Lybsin is my host but when I search for my podcast title, there are no results. Do you think that’s because Lybsin doesn’t supply my podcast feed? (I think every time I upload a file to Lybsin, I do it “file for download” which could be my problem too…
You might need to Add New Episode because it probably pulls from the RSS feed Libsyn creates. I have a feeling you’re right and “File For Download” isn’t going to work. Not sure, just a guess.
See if they agree: support@libsynsupport.com
Good luck!
Great info. Thanks. Anyone have any feedback from a user perspective? I read somewhere that anytime User1 listens to a podcast in FB, something gets posted by libsyn on their newsfeed. Which seems aggressive and obnoxious. I’d appreciate and feedback anyone has on the topic!
I tested this and did not have anything posted to my timeline. I prefer not to have the world know what I listen to, so that would be a turn off for me too.
I went ahead and tested it myself. Figured who is on FB on Christmas Eve-Eve! When you, as a listener, first sign on for the app the second window gives you an option to allow Libsyn to post to your timeline. My understand is when they first rolled the app it was not optional and adoption was low. Thanks for looking into it!
Oh, didn’t realize there was that option. Wait, I didn’t see that, you see that as a listener? Good to know it’s optional. Thanks for looking into this!
This is my first adventure in podcasting. So I went in as myself in FB and accessed the app as a user. Did NOT check the “libsyn can post to my FB”, clicked on a random entry, listened a bit, and made sure there was no record of it anywhere on my timeline. My pleasure!
Great info. Thanks so much for the update! Good to know. 🙂
This worked great – thanks for taking the time to share this.
My pleasure Marc! Glad it helped. Thanks for the feedback. 🙂
what a brilliant idea! I got the tab to show up and see my podcast listed – per your instructions – BUT there are no episodes listed on my Facebook page (there are 12 episodes listed on Libsyn.)
Does it take awhile to populate?
Hey Dvorah! Did your episodes show up? I think it happened right away for me. Let me know!
Hi Paul, thank you so much for your reply. It seems there was a key missing piece in the instructions – which you may not have been aware of. I went into Libsyn and found a content area and had to click all the boxes of the content I wanted to appear on the destination site. What I don’t know is whether or not it will post future episodes.
What are your thoughts on this?
Also – what is your opinion on whether or not to allow Libsyn to automatically post to social networks – I saw that option when I adjusted the above.
I’m off to explore your site and search for your podcast. Thanks again!!!
Ha ha, thanks! First, I highly recommend using the social media share options in Libsyn (in fact, I should create a post on that very subject – thanks for the idea!). I use it for both Twitter and Facebook.
This is a huge time-saver for me. And when the episode is posted, the player appears directly in the post. You can’t beat that! So, do it for sure. (Check out the screen shot.)
As for the check boxes… can you provide a screen shot of that? I’m not sure what you’re referring to. Do you mean the “Destinations” area of Libsyn?
Let me know!
Hi Paul, Yes, the “destinations” tab – you have to “select content.” I found it by accident but when I selected the content, then it showed up on Facebook.
It would be awesome if you could include this as part of your tutorial, as it would help a lot of people. Once updated, I would be happy to add a link to your post in our Podcasting Artciles and Podcasts roundup.
Also, I’d love to interview you for our Podcasting Success Secrets podcast, if interested. Here’s a link to the site so you can see if this is a good match for you. http://PodcastingSuccessSecrets.com
Our members will LOVE to know how to add the Libsyn widget to their Facebook page. OH – you inspired me so much, I updated and enhanced the Facebook page for our podcast.

D’vorah, under Destinations, which item did you have to “Select Content” for? Was it the Libsyn Classic Feed? I’d love to update the article, let me know where you are selecting the content.
And, I’d love to be on the show. 🙂 Reach out to me at the email address under the Contact tab on this site (sorry, cannot post it here, too much spam).
So glad this is a helpful article for you!
I’m guessing that’s the one Paul – as I also clicked on the content to include on the other items, apps, web page options on that page. But I’d guess it would be the Libsyn Feed for Facebook – makes sense.
What I’ll be interested in seeing is if it automatically adds new content when new content publishes. I see that we are connected on Facebook now – I’ll send you a private message there. Thanks!
Yes, it updates the Facebook feed automatically. At least it should. Thanks for the input here! Great add. 😀
Hi Paul..will this work for a Soundcloud Podcast too…or just through Libsyn?
Hey Pam! Good to see you. The closest thing I could find to a SoundCloud equivalent to this is:
http://help.soundcloud.com/customer/portal/articles/873324-how-do-i-share-to-facebook-
Would love to see them integrate with Facebook the way libsyn has. Let me know if you have any luck with it.
